Sarah Geronimo: Fangirling and her upcoming Davao concert

Popularly known as the Popstar Royalty or the Pop Princess of the Philippines, Sarah Geronimo has made a mark for herself in the entertainment industry for the past 14 years. What started out as a childhood dream, joining several singing contests as young girl, it is very inspiring to see her now, going full circle and enjoying her accomplishments as a successful singer, dancer, actress, product endorser and producer. Over the years, aside from her awesome talent,  I admire her professionalism and passion for her career. She also has this sunshine-y attitude that makes her adorable and funny. This is the reason why I especially love watching her films. Kilig and feel good. I don’t know but I really think she always establishes a wonderful chemistry with her leading men in the movies. No wonder they’re always blockbuster hits. And her songs–soulful, unforgettable and well-loved by many. My current favorite is her song with Yeng […]

Music's Kool Kanta-Kwento

Muzic’s Kool’s Kanta Kwento: Heartfelt and Soulful

Love, joy, inspiration, longing, assumption, unforgiveness, brokenness, frustration, annoyance, desperation, faith, assurance, hope, and renewal. These are some of the varied experiences that inspired the artist to create songs to capture the drama of human emotions. “Kanta-Kwento” is an album that verbalized the different sentiments, random thoughts, and feelings that could not be simply said in our casual face-to-face conversations with the people involved in our lives. “Kanta-Kwento” mirrors the humans being fully engaged with life. It is an artist’s subtle self-assurance that life goes on and one has to keep moving on, learning from the experiences and picking up the pieces to begin a new story. This emotion-packed musical collaboration is a reflection of the unique creativity of some of Davao’s emerging homegrown musicians. All songs were composed by Jeremy Sarmiento, with music skillfully arranged by Jonathan Ferrero, Jr. and Paolo Sisi. These are nicely interpreted by both budding and known singers and musicians […]

Bamboo and Tattoo Home Broadband Bring Smiles to the Children of Ormoc

Rock icon Bamboo in partnership with Tattoo Home Broadband gave the children of Brgy. Tambulilid Elementary School in Ormoc, Leyte a lot of reasons to be happy as they were the recipient of gifts of toys just in time for the Christmas season. To cap the successful series of Bamboo’s Christmas concert Believe: Christmas at Home with Bamboo, the concert became the prime vehicle to be able to collect over 2000 toys for the benefit of the kids in the said barangay. The Philippine Madrigal Singers Seranades Davao As They Go For Gold

I had a rare opportunity to sit at the front row to watch The Philippine Madrigal Singers live last March 6 at SM Lanang Premier here in Davao City. They were here as part of their Goin’ For Gold Outreach Tour in line with their 50th Anniversary. Back then, I could only hear and watch in the news that they have been doing stellar shows here and abroad, bringing accolades for the country. Watching them perform live is indeed a different story. Every song and every performance is sang flawlessly well. And boy, they were entertaining too! For those who think that classical and traditional music is bland and boring, well, think again. Aside from their repertoire of Filipino novelty and traditional music, they also impressed the younger generation when they sang their version of a current local hit, “Pusong Bato” ( revived by the Kulaog band in 2012). They […]
