Popular on-demand delivery platform Lalamove has officially launched its services in Davao City as part of its wider Mindanao expansion. Recognizing Davao’s scale, growing base of local businesses, and role as the region’s commercial center, the expansion aims to support everyday Davaoeños, help local SMEs grow, and create new income opportunities for partner drivers.
As the largest city in the Philippines by land area, Davao’s size is both its strength and its challenge. Moving goods from Toril to Lanang, or from Bankerohan to Buhangin, on short notice can still be difficult, with delivery often relying on informal arrangements or individuals making the trip themselves. Lalamove’s entry aims to help address this gap by providing a convenient, dependable platform for fast, door-to-door delivery.
Lalamove is an on-demand platform that allows users to book deliveries or rides through an app on their smartphones. The company entered the Philippines in 2016 and has since grown into a network spanning 18 markets across Asia, the Americas, and Europe. Until now, however, its services had not been available in Mindanao.
The Mindanao launch covers Davao, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos, Bukidnon, Butuan, Iligan, Pagadian, and Dipolog. The rollout also forms part of a wider Visayas expansion beyond Cebu, where Lalamove has operated since 2022 and introduced ride-hailing services in 2025, with the company now reaching communities in Panay and Negros.
“We’re excited to finally bring Lalamove to the communities of Mindanao, and Davao especially. Davao City’s MSMEs have been going digital fast, moving to QR payments and online selling. On-demand delivery gives local businesses a simple way to serve more customers without opening another branch, while giving drivers a way to earn. We wanted to be part of that growth,” said Djon Nacario, Managing Director, Lalamove Philippines.
A City Built for Movement
Davao is one of Mindanao’s most dynamic urban economies. Every day, goods move across the city — from hardware in Agdao and online orders in Matina to produce from Bankerohan headed to stalls across town.
Short-notice delivery, however, still often depends on informal arrangements, such as a familiar habal-habal driver, a favor from a friend, or making the trip oneself.
Business activity continues to expand. In January 2026 alone, more than 45,000 businesses applied for permits in Davao City, representing a significant potential source of daily delivery demand.
Lalamove is introducing its on-demand delivery services to meet the needs of both individuals and businesses. Key features include:
- Instant, on-demand delivery bookings through an easy-to-use app
- Real-time tracking of deliveries
- Multiple vehicle options based on load size
- Parcel insurance of up to ₱75,000, regardless of vehicle type
Flexible Earning Opportunities for Partner Drivers
Driving is an established livelihood in Davao, and Lalamove’s expansion builds on this existing culture by creating additional income opportunities for local vehicle owners and drivers.
Lalamove supports its partner drivers with medical e-consultations, fuel discounts, emergency roadside assistance, and insurance protection covering accidents, permanent disablement, and death.
Driver and vehicle registration is already underway.
What Davao Has Been Waiting For
Davao continues to grow, with more businesses opening and more goods that need to move around the city. While delivery options already exist, Lalamove aims to provide a single, accessible platform that Davaoeños can turn to for their everyday delivery needs.
The Lalamove app is available for download. Aspiring partner drivers may register through the company’s driver registration platform. For more information, follow Lalamove Philippines on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
