The Apo View Hotel: Soaring To New Heights at 65

The Apo View Hotel: Soaring High at 65

You don’t need to be a historian to say that one of the pillars of Davao’s thriving tourism industry is The Apo View Hotel. With the distinction as the city’s first hotel, and as the Philippines second oldest operating hotel (next to Manila Hotel),  the Apo View has carved a name for itself since it first opened its doors in 1948.

Home to Davao tourists since 1948

Over the years, it has stood amidst the challenges of the times and reinvented itself to continually cater to its patrons and to the increasing number of tourists coming in to Davao. The Apo View specially takes pride in its employees who serve as its backbone in providing guests with world class experience that is truly and distinctively from Davao.

On March 23, as it celebrates its 65th year, the Apo View Hotel gives back to its industry partners, clients and friends as a way of thanksgiving. As a celebration of this momentuos milestone, the hotel will treat its guest to a lavish party of great food and music. Chef Pablito Villanda, head of the F&B Team will make it more memorable as they spice up the party with cocktails and tapas.

Homegrown talents Jay Durias of South Border, Jinky Vidal (formerly with Freestyle band) and jazz musician Angel Balbin, who first had their debut in the Apo View before making it big in the national scene will be home for the celebration,as well.

Meanwhile, the event will also highlight the giving of  loyalty awards to the hotel’s selected employees who showed exemplary service over the years, by the Apo View Hotel President and CEO, Chris Pamintuan.

I am truly excited to join the party tomorrow. Cheers!!!

Party! Party! Party!

i haven’t been to Davao but it’s really one of the cities in PI that I would love to go to someday. Maybe on our next PI vacation. 🙂 That looks like an amazing 5 star hotel. I bet it’s also expensive to stay there.

Oh… that’s a great snap of the Apo View Hotel! I have been there once, but that was a over a decade ago, when I was still in high school. Thriving indeed, after so many years! The management must have done something right to compete with the new hotels in Davao!

I haven’t tried out checking in at this hotel but we were there for a function last December when my cousin got married. It was held at the 9th floor, Apo Rooftop I believe. I’ve heard it’s of Davao’s best and landmark as well 🙂
