Licealiz Brings Kilusang Kontra Kuto Year 3

Kilusang Kontra Kuto, a coalition of head lice prevention experts and advocates is now on its  3rd year in its mission to create a kuto-free Philippines. The group is led by Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz with the help of Department of Education (DepEd), UP Manila College of Public Health, Mommy Bloggers Philippines, and Drugstores Association of the Philippines. This year, to create a greater and wider impact, the team is visiting different schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to educate the public in eliminating ‘kuto’ or head lice problem which ranks as the 2nd most common health problem in public schools in the country next to tooth decay. Rotavirus Vaccine for Children’s Diarrhea: The Great Equalizer

Rotavirus  is the known to be the primary cause of diarrhea globally and rotavirus diarrhea is the third leading disease to cause death in children worldwide. It is inevitable even in first world countries, which makes it all the more alarming most especially to countries having less resources to fight the dreaded disease. Luckily for the Filipino people whose administration’s aim is to significantly reduce infant mortality rate through rotavirus vaccination. In fact, the Philippines is the first Southeast Asian country to provide it for free through its national immunization programs. It is given in two (2) doses for infants, 0-6 months old.
