The Recipients of the BlackBerry Scholars Program

Over the 7 week application period, the BlackBerry Scholars Program received over 500 applications from women across 43 countries. BlackBerry is thrilled to announce the talented and passionate scholarship recipients of the BlackBerry Scholars Program. Ten young women have been selected earlier last month to receive full, four-year scholarships to pursue degrees in STEM-related fields to inspire more women to enter the mobile computing industry and pursue careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The recipients will receive full, four-year university tuition scholarships to the school of their choice for degrees in STEM-related fields, as well as mentorship and professional opportunities. It is quite exciting to know that while many are going gaga over the rising market competition between Android and IOS smartphone devices, BlackBerry has aimed not be left behind as they introduced The New BlackBerry Z10 in March earlier this year. I was privileged enough to test the unit for a couple of weeks, then create a review thereafter. I was extra thrilled because I knew that BB Z10 leads the new generation of BlackBerry devices. For the longest time, I have been meaning to try using a BlackBerry phone. My hubby has one, but it gives me limited accessibility since it was issued by their company, and they apparently blocked (***sad face**) some Apps for work reasons. From June 5-12, SM Lanang Premier put on display Davao-made Barongs by Architect Michael E. Dakudao in celebration of Philippine Barong Tagalog Week. Dubbed as Passionalism: An Exhibit of the Barong Davaoeño, the exhibit at the mall’s Atrium features Arch. Dakudao’s elegant collection of the Philippine national attire for men, the Barong Tagalog. It aims to rekindle the love for the Philippines and encourage appreciation for our very own national costume. Architect Dakudao has been featured in many publications for his admirable passion for collecting Barong Tagalog, especially those made from sinamay and piña, decorated with handsewn embroidery.
