Domex “Fiesta” Video Brings Awareness for Clean Toilets, Germ-free Communities

Imagine this scene typically played out during fiestas: People rushing to the streets, drawn to the sound of a marching band. Everyone is smiling, eager to see the “star” of the celebration. But instead of showing the face of a movie celebrity, a beauty queen or a politician, the video reveals an unlikely, yet welcome sight—a new, clean toilet facility. “Fiesta”, the Domex video is produced by Unilever Philippines. Now up on Youtube, it shows how underprivileged Filipinos welcome the “arrival” of clean toilet facilities in their communities. “The video aims to make people realize the value of a toilet which most of us, unfortunately, take for granted,” said Dennis Chua, Domex Brand Manager. GrabTaxi’s Investment Rises to US$ 90 million in 12 months

With Strong Focus on Driver-Passenger Experience GrabTaxi, Southeast Asia’s leading taxi-booking mobile phone app, has completed its Series C round of financing, one of the largest rounds in the history of Southeast Asia. The company has raised a total of approximately US$90 million of venture capitalist funding and loans since within 12 months. The Series C round was led by US-based Tiger Global Management. New investor Hillhouse Capital Management also joined the round with existing investors Vertex Venture Holdings, GGV Capital and Qunar (NASDAQ: QUNR)i. The GrabTaxi mobile app has been downloaded onto more than 2.1 million mobile devices, with more than 400,000 active monthly users in over 17 cities in six countries. Although it is commonly identified with latin dance steps such as samba, salsa, mambo and merengue, Zumba also has hiphop and martial arts movements in it making it really interesting. Globe postpaid reaches out to more than 2M subscribers in 2013

Globe Telecom has once again proven its leadership in the postpaid segment after ending 2013 with double-digit growth both in postpaid revenues and subscriber base amid the aggressive switching campaigns and attractive price offerings of its competitors. Postpaid base has reached 2.03 million, a 17% increase from previous year’s 1.7 million. Gross subscriber additions reached over 711,000 as of end-December 2013, 21% higher than a year ago. This has brought total mobile subscriber base to 38.5 million, up 16% from 33.1 million subscribers last year. Full year acquisitions also reflected the improving quality of acquired postpaid subscribers with 51% of gross additions signing up for postpaid plans with monthly service fees of P999 and above, compared to 44% in 2012. With the robust growth and continued expansion of the company’s postpaid customer base, postpaid revenues have swelled to P27.1 billion, an 18% improvement year-on-year.
