Globe postpaid reaches out to more than 2M subscribers in 2013

Globe Telecom has once again proven its leadership in the postpaid segment after ending 2013 with double-digit growth both in postpaid revenues and subscriber base amid the aggressive switching campaigns and attractive price offerings of its competitors. Postpaid base has reached 2.03 million, a 17% increase from previous year’s 1.7 million. Gross subscriber additions reached over 711,000 as of end-December 2013, 21% higher than a year ago. This has brought total mobile subscriber base to 38.5 million, up 16% from 33.1 million subscribers last year. Full year acquisitions also reflected the improving quality of acquired postpaid subscribers with 51% of gross additions signing up for postpaid plans with monthly service fees of P999 and above, compared to 44% in 2012. Globe Telecom’s core net profit goes up by 13% in 2013

Globe Telecom sustained growth momentum in 2013 as core net profit rose 13% to P11.6 billion as strong performance of its mobile, broadband, and fixed line data businesses continued to drive revenue growth notwithstanding the onslaught of natural calamities in the last quarter of the year. The company’s consolidated service revenues for 2013 reached a fresh record high of P90.5 billion, up 9% from P82.7 billion last year, driven by the continued growth in the demand for data connectivity across the mobile, broadband and fixed line data businesses, which improved by 8%, 20% and 13%, respectively. Globe and Gawad Kalinga Inaugurate TATTOO Village in Ormoc, Leyte

As part of its commitment to nation-building, Globe Telecom broadband brand Tattoo, in partnership with Gawad Kalinga, formally inaugurated the Tattoo Village in Barangay Tambulilid in Ormoc, Leyte. Led by Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu, Gawad Kalinga Executive Director Luis Oquinena, and Ormoc Mayor Edward Codilla, the unveiling of the Tattoo Village was formally instituted through the actual building of the first five houses in the village. Globe Gives ICT tools to UNICEF for Quality Maternal and Child Care

Globe Telecom has donated P1 million worth of prepaid load and 200 mobile phones to the United Nations International Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for the provision of quality health services to mothers and their newborn children particularly those in geographically-isolated and disadvantaged areas. The donation will be used for the Real-time Community Health and Information Tracking System or rChits which was initially launched in 10 off-grid areas to aid in information management and treatment response efficiency.
